Daryapur

Tehsil Daryapur, District Amravati, Maharashtra.

Daryapur (Banosa) is a city and a municipal council in Amravati district in the state of Maharashtra, India. Daryapur is situated on the bank of Chandrabhaga river. The town drives its name from Darya Imad Shah the 3rd independent Kings of Berar( A.D.1526-1560)and who founded Daryapur.

Daryapur has excelled in education with its old famous reputed Prabodhan Vidyalaya and other schools which has produced many meritorious students who excelled in different fields of studies. Daryapur is also famous as a cotton producing town with nemerous jinning and pressing factories. It also excels in production of cereals like 'Mug' and 'Chana'. Soyabeen production in recent years is also growing. Daryapur Municipal Council comprises of three separate town i.e. Daryapur, Banosa and Babhali. Daryapur is the main town where the Municipal Council, ST Bus Stand, and main schools are situated. Babhali and Banosa are separated by a river "Chandrabhaga".

Some remarkable places in and around Daraypur are the Cotton mill, Kholapuri Gate, Asha-Manisha Temple on the bank of Chandrabhaga river, Sant Gadge Baba Temple, Sant Gadge Baba Jatra-Runmochan, Murha, Parashram Maharaj Temple-Pimplod and Bag famous as religios places.

Daryapur is also home town of renowned marathi writer Pratima Ingole. She is active in this field since 25 years. Her many stories are included for studies in school and college syllabus

Daryapur is located at 20.93° N 77.33° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 288 metres (948 feet) above sea level.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Daryapur had a population of 34,398. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Daryapur Banosa has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82% and, female literacy is 74%. In Daryapur Banosa, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
